I am a Notary Public based in Cockermouth, Cumbria.

I provide a comprehensive notarial service including where necessary the legalisation of documents at the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office and at foreign Embassies and Consulates.

If the matter is simple, I will endeavour to charge a fixed fee. I do not charge VAT.  For more complicated or time-consuming matters the fee will be based on my hourly rate of £150.00, subject to a minimum fee of £125.00.

A Notary Public prepares, witnesses or certifies documents to be used abroad.  The need for a Notary Public is dictated by the requirements of the country where the document is to be used. 

A Notary Public must always check the identity of the signatory as well as his or her capacity and intention.  The Notary Public’s signature and seal will verify to the authorities in that country that the relevant checks have been carried out.

My notarial practice is regulated by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
